Brainchild
Here we are again. 14 day high :). Free at last. But now I'm quarantined.
It appears that, during exams week, we rise up to the challenge and become extra efficient. The ability to study for multiple cumulative exams within a single week. Yet, the moment it ends, our minds boggle down to its most primitive form. So much energy pent up, all those plans to do during the break... but now that its here... all motivation is gone. hahahahaha
You know what the say. Give yourself 3 hours to finish a project and you'll finish in 3 hours. Give yourself 3 days and it'll take 3 days. Have one night left to finish the assignment? It'll be done by the end of the night.
You could call this procrastination, but i like to look at it a bit differently. Its like playing basketball without keeping score - no one is really motivated to try. There's no risk, no thrill, no chance of winning or losing. In the same way, if there's no urgency in writing a paper or completing an assignment, then no one is gonna give a rats ass. We yearn for that fire - something to push us. Pure focus & unrelenting energy. (almost like a state of frenzy)
Now the real question is: how do we harvest this energy at will?
Well, you could search up "motivation videos" on YouTube and there'd be an endless sea of motivational speeches. Quite frankly, this method works well at first, but at some point, you'll have heard them all. (a lot of the clips are recycled over and over again) This type of energy is temporary, and it originates from the external. In a way, it'll still be fruitful when you need a boost on those lazy dog days or when your plane is shot from the sky (trust me, nothing feels better than MateuzM after getting whooped on an exam). In other words, motivational videos are a mental crutch.
I'm still trying to figure this out, get me out of this rut myself. (TOO MUCH LEAGUE) Setting your own deadlines is real exceedingly helpful. It mimics the frenzied state of a real deadline. Google Calendar + daily tasks = Steve Jobs
Nah but seriously. Motivation, purpose, vision, and inspiration is all wonderful, but at the end of the day, discipline trumps all. Whether you feel like it or not, whether your in the flow state and got cosmic inspiration, it doesn't matter. Nothing beats the everyday grind. The hustle - to JUST DO IT when you feel like absolute bahooki. Set goals and work towards them everyday. Be consistent, be decisive, be great.
aight. good speech, time to play league LUL
