Responsibility
Bambi correlates perfectly with this post.
I think I've figured out the secret. (thanks mark manson) One that will free the mind and rejuvenate the spirit. Our anxieties and worries all stem from the fact that we feel like there is no control. Whether we have control or not lies within our values.
For example, lets say I lose a basketball game. Now, I'm mad and could easily blame my teammates - who played like dogs. Yet, this mindset puts my happiness in the hands of others and what shitty life it would be to not have control over your own happiness. This is where taking responsibility kicks in; yea, I loss but I can only control myself. I'll train and never miss a shot again, I can carry them, or better yet, I'll involve my teammates more and guide them to greatness. Play to improve - implus, what shame is there in giving your best effort and falling short? Losing sucks but at least it is in your control now.
This concept applies to everything and not just competition. I can't control whether people like me or not (this is also the worst ways to base your happiness on). Instead, I'll measure my happiness based on the quality of relationships; I have full control over this - the way I treat my friends and family.
Lets not forget though - there will be tough times in life (difficult, sorrowful, despairingly low times), but we must understand that we feel this way for a reason. When you're nervous, afraid, or feel like shit, that's a SIGN. It's an excellent indicator in telling you to take action. The super compass pointing you to success. Scared of that presentation on Wednesday? Good! Now go practice and DO IT because, once its all said and done, you 'll be better.

The bottom line is... take responsibility for everything that happens in your life; once you realize that your life is completely in your hands, ooohh - the amount of power that you gain is immense. YOU HAVE FULL CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE :OOOOOooo LETS GO!
Stepped in dog poop? My fault, should've seen it, I'll teach that dog a lesson next time (jk lol). Got a speeding ticket? oof I coulda drove slower and I'll learn to finesse the ticket next time. Got mugged in an alley? shoulda taken those free self-defense lessons, I'll fight them off next time. Voldemort killed my parents when I was a child? I'll become the world's strongest wizard. Kicked out of college and live in a garage? Yea, fine. I'll start a tech company named after a fruit and sell phones.
Don't blame, take responsibility for everything. Learn, improve, be better. You are in control of everything. This is happiness.
