The comeback

Mountains, canyons, rivers, and beaches, I have seen them all this week. Elk, eagles, and seals; the wild is amazing. But even at the top of the world, there is pain in paradise. The sun was glistening, yet the breeze was refreshing. Hot sand and cold waves. Climbing over the rocks and coves, one could feel them prickling your feet. A family of seals bathed beneath the sun. Crowded yet serene. Laguna beach was what they called it. As the day was ending, life was great, but there was a sandy slope. One misstep. boom. busted knee. Fuck it. I needed this. Time to reset.

Writings #1: Professional setting

I have just downloaded the phone app for Blogger. Hopefully, this will increase my writing frequency throughout the summer. My writing can be too flowery sometimes, especially in more formal settings such as applications and resumes. In the mentioned cases, direct and factual statements are preferred over bombastic phrases. It would be best to remove all interpretation from the reader, and state exactly the message intended. Again, leave no room for interpretation, for metaphoric writing may convey an unintended message.   Furthermore, the coherence of the said essay is a key factor in "enhancing" the reading experience. Short and choppy factual statements will bore the reader and send a poor impression. Thus, without the use of flowery language, the cohesiveness and transition between ideas will make a piece of writing more bearable.  It is necessary for me to reevaluate my personal statement. I must ensure that there is evidence proving my case and not just empty desires. A...
