Writings #1: Professional setting

I have just downloaded the phone app for Blogger. Hopefully, this will increase my writing frequency throughout the summer.

My writing can be too flowery sometimes, especially in more formal settings such as applications and resumes. In the mentioned cases, direct and factual statements are preferred over bombastic phrases. It would be best to remove all interpretation from the reader, and state exactly the message intended. Again, leave no room for interpretation, for metaphoric writing may convey an unintended message.

Furthermore, the coherence of the said essay is a key factor in "enhancing" the reading experience. Short and choppy factual statements will bore the reader and send a poor impression. Thus, without the use of flowery language, the cohesiveness and transition between ideas will make a piece of writing more bearable.

It is necessary for me to reevaluate my personal statement. I must ensure that there is evidence proving my case and not just empty desires. Actions and achievements will aid my claim more than observations and emulations. Dreams and promises are not convincing enough. I need a more coherent prose with experiences that segues into my ambitions. Chronological order is a must as well.

There is much to be done, but if I am correct, then my transcript cannot be verified for another week. I have time. The activities do not need to be in story format and should show responsibilities and accomplishments.
