2022

Update: Writing this post from the passenger seat of a crowded Honda pilot. The Sandia Mountains all around me; cool air blows on my toes as they rest in a borrowed pair of Nike slides. Future me if you are reading this stretch those legs, and enjoy what I could not in this moment.

New year better me. LETS GET IT. Aye year of the TIGER. 

A man is defined by his character not his hobbies or achievements. The worth of a man lies within his mind and heart. Courage and honor can never be taken away from us. Trophies, possessions, and hobbies all fade with time, but one's character is forever. 

Although hobbies and goals still build us to become better and more rounded individuals, I will focus on character in 2022. Strength and honor. Too long I have split the burden of responsibility and hardship with those around me. At times, I have even pushed it away... but NO MORE. Give me all your burdens and pressures; that shit won't break me, THATS NOTHING TO ME. Let me guide and protect. Hop on my back and let me carry. I will bear all your pains and hardships (hoop, work, & family I will carry them all). Future me, this is the year you stepped up and became the leader - warlord, chieftain, jungler.

Who knew a Disney movie could be so inspirational... hahaha encanto (when strong girl backed down from the pressure (weak...), it inspired me to never back down from high/unreasonable expectations again). I'm stronger, so if I won't protect then who will.

Legends of the Fall

Greetings to the future, It has been a while old friend. My hiatus has finally come to an end, for I have found my way again. All is well in the world. I have found the path that must be walked. A reason for the struggle. An end to the road. A why. I have found it once more. I know what I want in this life. This dream now keeps me up at night and has me leaping out of bed before the sunrise. When we wander aimlessly, no amount of motivation can carry us through the storm. A ship with no direction will never reach the port.  I will do everything it takes to get what is mine.
