Intention or Action

Update: This week flew by WOOOSH. Tomorrow is already Friday wow. The excitement for learning is real, but I think I'm just going to enjoy the rest of summer. Someone mentioned that they missed being back in this limbo, and it made me appreciate it more (reality check).

Book Review: Perks of Being a Wallflower by Chibosky (no spoilers)

This review is long over due. I procrastinated because I strongly disagreed with (Charlie) the main character's choices through out his development and how the book played out (at least initially); however, towards the end... the book got juicy and the writing improved. HOW? (because it was in 1st-person-diary style and Charlie got better at writing?? LOL). In my confused state, I couldn't bear to write a positive review, so I procrastinated. Goon ass, spineless, mentally weak characters. At the end, we learned why he was a wallflower, so it was understandable.... but like bruh, young boi had EQ score of 0. [3/5 read]

The novel does bring up a good question: Which is more important, intention or action? Here are some hypotheticals.

1. A person who has good intentions but never acts on it. ex: Jim Bob sees his elderly neighbor struggle to cut the grass; he feels sorry and wants to help, but Jim Bob never gets around to it because he is too busy with school.

2. A person who has good intentions and acts on it, but the action ends up doing the opposite. Memelun wants to help her neighbor cut the grass, but she sucks at it. She rams the neighbor's lawn mower into a ditch and knocks over their fence.

3. A person who has bad intentions and tries to sabotage but accidentally helps. Harry Potter tries to turn the elderly neighbor into a baby, but instead, he mistakenly rewinds the elderly neighbor into his mid twenties. The man can now cut his grass without struggle.

In my opinion, scenario 2 is ideal even if Memelun's results are not there. Mistakes can be fixed while intention is too deeply ingrained. We want to surround ourselves with people who wish the best for us not pray for our downfall. It's kinda like getting socks and gag gifts for Christmas; the intent is there and that's all that matters (imagine getting your dream gift from someone who you know hates you LOL, that gift would mean nothing). Find the people who want to see you soar. Good intentions, good vibes, good life AYEEEEEEEEEEEE
