Dog Days

 Greetings Future Me,

I am listening to Sergy el Som do a piano cover of a song from Up (actually kinda catchy). Lamps are dim and a bowl of blueberries sits patiently to my right. Life is slowing down hard lol... it's them dog days. Recently, I have returned to my og training sessions in the yard, no more gym for a bit (them wind sprints hit hard). 9+ hrs of snoozin + eating good. I have also been practicing how to write and read the language of my ancestors.

I finished reading Dahle's White Coat Investor: Guide for Students.

The financial books never really hit well with me, but the first 60% of the book was specific to medical and dental students on how to handle loans and how to live efficiently; I cruised through this section because it was applicable. In summary, it was choose the cheapest school, live frugally but do not sacrifice efficiency and quality of life, look for scholarships (including third party), and #1 is focus on school because the best investment is to do well! In residency, it's try to pay off added interest before it can capitalize and DO NOT buy a house lol (unless its 5 yr rule but even then its not worth the extra work & stress). Oh and max that Roth 401k in residency and switch to traditional once you make the big bucks. There were also a whole spiel on different loan repayment and forgiveness programs - details on which one is reasonable vs not.

The last 40% of the book was on general finance as an attending and general economics - very, very boring and irrelevant at this stage in my life. Essential information for the most part but only 60% was relevant so [3/5 read].
