The Iron Soldier
Update: We reigned victorious on the recent battle of week's past. It is only onward and upward from here. Today, I saw the power of sheer discipline.
I was able to catch up with a fellow broski who I hadn't see for a while, and oh how the tides have turned. Earlier this year, broski was renown as the party guy, but now, he is the essence of the iron soldier. He was able to carry out the plan, the regiment and level of discipline that we always spoke about. Driven by the crushing pressure of failure after failure and disappointment after disappointment, he disappeared into the shadows. There was no more leeway... 1 more mistake and it was to the chopping block. I did what I could and gave what ever advice I could offer. That was one moon ago. This evening, I saw the product of a month's long grind.
At exactly 445, the Iron Soldier rises. First, he says a prayer of thanks and then immediately begins his morning grind. As the sun rises, he pauses to appreciate the splendors of the universe; the sunrise is truly a miracle to behold. It then marks the time for his workout whether it be wrestling iron or racing against his shadow. The Iron Soldier does not eat till the sunset, and his keto nourishment consist of fuel cleaner than the clouds of Mount Olympus. In the evening, he would meditate and then his grind resumes again until 9 when he rests. This occurred for 28 days straight; not a single day did he deviate from the plan. By the dawn of battle... every lecture 7x, every page of the textbook, every last damn practice question would be completed. Phone was always turned off and in the other room, every app un-downloaded. It was either study, read, cook, meditate, or workout - not an ounce of dopamine to be wasted. Discipline at its finest. The reward was perfection.
I applaud the iron soldier for his accomplishments, for he drives me to be better. FINALLY a worthy challenge - these are the sparks that I needed. I will not sit around and be outworked! Its nothing personal, people just inspire me. TIME TO CLIMB!
